Maya

Maya, who joined our family in November of 2015, was bred by Gina and Lina Wainiola, of Mozaic and Rivers Edge Poodles, in Michigan. I co-own Maya with Gina until her title and health testing requirements are met.

I flew to Michigan to choose my puppy and it was a really tough choice as Gina had two beautiful females. However, little Maya just had something about her that said “I am yours.” She was a bouncy little playful kangaroo and now she is a bouncy playful big kangaroo! Maya makes me laugh everyday with her antics. She loves loves loves her toys and has a bit of prey drive. I think it might have been her that killed the half eaten snake in our yard that I caught the girls playing keep away with. She’s learned to nibble ears and kiss my face from Jaxon and is a super sweet girl.

Maya got her UKC Championship in her first weekend of showing at 7 months and now has 4 of the 5 wins necessary for her Grand Championship. One more to go! 🙂 Maya earned her UKC SPOT certificate (like AKC Canine Good Citizen – CGC) and as soon as I have time for another class with her we will work on her AKC CGC, and then start Rally Obedience training for later competition. We have been working on rally moves and commands at home in the meantime and she is doing great!

If everything works out with her health testing, then I will be looking for the perfect solid stud (for a parti-carrier I can show in AKC) and later to a UKC GRCH multi-color poodle stud when the time comes.

UPDATE: Maya’s life was cut short by a sock obstruction and she died in surgery in May of 2017. There was not a thing I didn’t love about this girl and she will be forever missed. For over a year I have been unable to even update this website because every time I try, I breakdown on this page. I have some wonderful pups I kept for my program in guardian homes that I need to add with their accomplishments and and a new pup that is turning one a month from now. I have a new litter that has gone by and are 8 weeks old. People cant even apply because I took the site down rather than update it. I need to heal and I need to update this site and turn it back on. So it begins with updating this page. Hopefully now I can find all the wonderful pics and videos I have of my wonderful sweet girl and add them here as a tribute to her life and what she brought to our lives in such a short time. And also, hopefully I can finally start updating and doing some redesigning of the website. But I’ll start with giving people access to my puppy application and maybe adding a few pics of this current litter. Peace to all of you who have ever lost a loved one. I know you know how I feel.
