Desi

Desi Bear joined our family from Mozaic Poodles in Fall 2017. She was bred by Gina Wainiola and is coowned with her. Desi lives in a Guardian home in San Antonio, Texas with Cynthia and Cooper Bear, her German Sheppard Best Buddy.

Desi is genetically diverse according to the UC Davis Genetic Diversity Test and the BetterBred.com analysis tools. Her Outlier Index (OI) is .32 OI, Internal Relatedness (IR) is .03 and her Average Genetic Relatedness (AGR) is -.08. I’m excited about using her in my program.

Desi is a very beautiful playful and affectionate large standard who could retrieve to hand for days. She is confident and enjoys people and other dogs. She does have some prey drive. She was a giant puppy for over two years and has finally matured as she is inching closer to three years old. She has loved showing in conformation, and greatly enjoyed running Lure and Precision Coursing.

It took Desi a while to grow into her long legs, lanky body and she didn’t start getting her nice adult coat until after 2 years old. Until she finally matured and got a more flattering trim, we had managed to rack up 14 Reserve Champion wins along with a couple award of merits in large champion classes. While I thought about giving up a few times on ever being able to earn that Grand Championship, when she was finally ready we won all 4 champion class shows on one weekend and the next show weekend she won her 5th to earn her UKC Grand Championship.  We are greatly looking forward to her first litter!
